Community Survey on Proposed Development of 54 homes - off Greengate.
Public Consultation and Survey after Alderley Homes held a public consultation event in Levens on their proposals for the construction of approximately 54 dwellings with access off Greengate. Many members of our Levens community as well as district and parish councilors expressed concerns on the plans in relation to primary school places, poor access via Greengate, water pressure issues, sewage problems, lack of bus a commuting service, highways village access, Levens lane footpath and affordable options.

News of a Public Consultation for Alderley Homes from Warrington taking place on Tuesday 13th January 2026 from 9.30am to 8.00pm at Levens Village Hall in the downstairs room.
A building site is proposed to the east of Greengate.
Winter 2025 parish council newsletter
The Parish Council reports steady progress on several village projects, including the introduction of a 20 mph speed limit, new road markings by the Playing Fields, and a replacement defibrillator at the Levens Institute. The Christmas Tree Lights Switch On will take place at 5 pm on Sunday 30 November.

Could These Fields Be Built On? W&F Maps Now Live
Several sites in and around Levens have been suggested for future development as part of a new 20-year Local Plan from Westmorland & Furness Council.
These are early-stage proposals and nothing has been decided yet. A public consultation is expected in the autumn.

Public Consultation Opens on Possible 20mph Speed Limit in Levens
As part of a wider Westmorland and Furness Council programme, residents are invited to give their views during a public consultation running from Wednesday 4 June to Friday 18 July. Feedback will help shape the final decision and determine whether the village proceeds with the introduction of a 20mph speed limit as part of the multi-year rollout.
A Fresh Start at Underhill: Levens’ Jubilee Orchard Takes Root
Levens’ Jubilee Orchard is starting to take shape at Underhill, with the first apple and pear trees now planted thanks to local volunteers and grant funding from Westmorland and Furness Council. More trees, including local damson varieties, will follow in the autumn — part of a long-term plan to create a thriving community space for the village.
Bike Repair Station Installed at Levens Village Shop
Levens Village Shop now has a covered Bike Repair Station with essential tools for quick fixes. The bike rack has also returned in a safer location. Thanks to the Morecambe Bay Partnership for funding. Cyclists can stop for repairs – and maybe a cake break too!
