Road Safety Lights for our School

Road safety at Levens Primary School - flashing lights approved

On 27 October, Levens Parish Council was delighted to hear from the Highways Department at Cumbria County Council that it has agreed to install flashing warning lights at three key points around Levens Primary School. This comes after many years of lobbying by Levens Parish Council for road safety improvements in the village and particularly around the school.

Thanks are also due to County Councillor Jim Bland who has fed concerns over road safety through to the Highways Department. The Parish Council has worked with Highways to provide locations for the lights which will operate at school opening and closing times and which, it is understood, will be installed before the end of this financial year i.e. before April 2023.

The Parish Council thanks the County Council for responding to its concerns and looks forward to installation and switch-on.
