Some of our team have struggled with the Online Survey that needs a W&F account and so we have copied and saved an copy of the survey that can be printed off. We have put copies and a box for completed Surveys at the shop that we will get taken into the council on a regular basis.

Westmorland & Furness Council (W&F) is drawing up a new Local Plan to guide development across the area for the next 20 years — and in the past under SLDC and W&F several sites in and around Levens had been suggested for future building/Construction.

This early stage from W&F Council is to look at Health & Communities, Place, Economy, Climate & Nature, Travel & Infrastructure and Housing under the survey title of “Scoping Consultation Survey”

Sites are expected to be identified later in the year and those shown below have been previously submitted by developers and landowners in response to what’s known as a ‘Call for Sites’. The full Local Plan is a “30 month Process” and expected to be adopted in Spring 2029.

Sites are expected to be looked for in Autumn 2026 and so no sites have been officially chosen yet. Westmorland & Furness Council will then be reviewing what has been submitted to see which plots are realistic candidates for development or to find additional sites. Some may be ruled out due to things like protected status or lack of access.
