Levens Arts & Film Society presents Standing in Line

Standing In Line is the story of the Great War, but specifically about Albert Scrimshaw, Lester Simpson’s great uncle, who died at Passchendaele. Originally commissioned by ‘Peace Concerts Passchendaele’ it was premiered in Passchendaele Church, Belgium.

The performance is centred around Lester’s songs as well as songs from the time. The narration includes poems of Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Rudyard Kipling and is accompanied by a series of projected images for a moving, immersive experience
