The Great Big Green Week is a national celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. We’ve put a programme together here in Levens over the weekend of Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th September 2022
Sunday afternoon 2pm at the Methodist Church:
We’re focussing on biodiversity, having more conversations (and cake).
Plants on the Green: Exchanging plants and seeds. Bring and takeaway plastic pots and jam jars.
Soil: Good quality soil is essential for growing and we’ll have advice on this. Composters: The master composters are coming to explain how to make more good compost, and we’ll be exploring the possibility of community composting.
Water butts: We’re trying to find help and advice so that we can collect and store more rainwater to use on our gardens.
More recycling: There’ll be advice about how we can collect more recycling.
King Sharp will be here on the car park to sharpen our knives, secateurs etc. (charged for).
More work on the Methodist Church’s community garden: They’ve made a good start and now need help to do more.
