Levens Village Institute comprises of 2 rooms for hire with kitchen facilities on both floors. It is already used for a wide variety of regular events. As well as regular meetings, it can also be hired for parties and one-off events such as Quiz Nights and Games Nights. The Institute is fully checked for accessibility and health and safety and holds both PRS and PPL Licences. All policies are available for hirers to view and booking a room (or rooms) is easy. Please note that users of the Institute should not use the gravel driveway at the rear of the Institute as this is a private road for Coach House, Walnut tree House and Walnut Tree Cottage. History of the InstituteOriginally, a Reading Room called the Levens Mens' Institute; the Institute is situated in the centre of the village just down from the shop at the junction of Lowgate and Hutton Lane.
The building comprises a large upper room with tables and chairs, kitchen and smaller lower room which is used predominantly by Levens Toddler Group. There are toilet facilities both up and downstairs, and a newly installed disabled access toilet at street level by the main entrance. Regular groups using the Institute also include 1st Levens Brownies, Levens Local History Group, and the Appalachian dancers.
